OES Project

Omaha Rapid Bus Transit

About the Project

The Omaha Rapid Bus Transit project represents a significant advancement in public transportation infrastructure, encompassing the establishment of 24 meticulously designed bus platforms that integrate cutting-edge technologies and amenities.
Each platform is equipped with advanced ticket kiosks that facilitate efficient fare collection and enhance the overall passenger experience. Additionally, real-time arrival notifications are provided to keep riders informed about bus schedules, thereby
minimizing wait times and improving service reliability.

A robust security system has been installed across all bus platforms to ensure the safety of passengers and staff alike. The implementation of Wi-Fi connectivity further enhances the user experience by offering riders the opportunity to stay connected while
waiting for their bus. To address the challenges posed by winter weather, each platform is constructed with heated concrete designed to melt snow and ice, ensuring safe and accessible conditions throughout the colder months.

Every bus platform is equipped with its own dedicated electrical service and cellular connection, which promotes optimal functionality and operational independence. This infrastructure supports the various technologies employed at each location and
guarantees a seamless transit experience for users.

In addition to the bus platforms, the project also features a sophisticated vehicle priority system implemented at nine key intersections. This system allows oncoming buses to maintain a green traffic signal as they approach, thereby minimizing delays and
enabling rapid transit of riders to their destinations. By prioritizing bus traffic at these intersections, the Omaha Rapid Bus Transit project aims to significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of public transport services throughout the region.

Overall, OES System Solutions is proud to contribute to this transformative project, which not only modernizes the transit experience but also promotes greater accessibility and efficiency within the Omaha public transportation network.
